Good morning! As the general chair of Chips 2023, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the participating experts and extend a warm welcome to all the attendees present at the venue or participating remotely.
The evolution of chip technology has been remarkable since the advent of computers in the 1940s. Over the years, chip development has grown into a vast industry and ecosystem. Advancements in semiconductor manufacturing technology have enabled the production of progressively smaller yet more powerful chips, with transistor dimensions now measured in nanometers. On the other hand, chip technology development is a global challenge and opportunity. The International Open Benchmark Council is a non-profit organization that plays a crucial role in promoting standardization, evaluation, validation, discussion, and promotion of new technologies such as chips. One of their key initiatives is the Chip100, which showcases the latest chip achievements from 2022 to 2023 that have already had a growing impact or are expected to have an impact in the near future. The conference reports for Chips 2023 are based on the Chip100 list from 2022 to 2023. The scope of Chips 2023 focuses on various accelerators, co-design methods, implementations, in-memory computing architecture, machine learning-assisted chip design, new computing forms such as superconducting and quantum computing, security-relevant chip architecture, and emerging materials and packaging methods.
